Our agriturismo is located in the middle of the last "undiscovered" part of Tuscany. Nearby is Radicondoli itself, a charming and totally authentic Tuscan mediaeval hilltop town with picturesque lanes and piazzas. It is situated in the Tuscan region of the Colline Senesi, which is home to some of the most famous cultural and historical locations of Tuscany. Sights of interest, including the cities of Sienna, San Gimignano, Volterra and Monteriggioni, the Abbey of San Galgano, the Maremma and the Mediterranean sea may be reached conveniently by car from our agriturismo. Surrounding Nature invites walks and hikes and other activities, such as horse riding and mountain bike tours.

To the NW:

Volterra, a fabulous town located 1770 feet above sea level, is famous for its architecture, ambiance and views. It became famous as the home of the Volturi vampire clan in "New Moon", a film located in Volterra but actually filmed in Montepulciano. Volterra is definitely woth a full day visit from Agriturismo San Pierino.

To the NE:

Monteriggioni and Colle di Val d'Elsa. Monteriggioni is a small village entirely surrounded by an intact curtain wall with eleven towers. Every year, an excellent mediaeval festival is held here. Nearby is the town of Colle di Val d'Elsa which is famous for its crystalware. The older part of town is worth a detour and there are numerous ancient churches to visit in the surrounding countryside.

From Agriturismo San Pierino, travelling east towards Sienna, we come first to Sovicille and a number of monasteries hidden away in the forest, and then the Val di Merse with the fascinating towns of Monticiano, Chiusdino, Murlo, Torri and then the magnificent ruined Abbey San Galgano and the Hermitage of Montesiepi.

To the SW:

South west of Agriturismo San Pierino lie the Alta Maremma and the Mediterranean coast. These areas are amazingly interesting. Massa Marittima lies in the Alta Maremma along with numerous scenic villages as well as hot springs anf Etruscan ruins. Further towards the coast, lie the plains of the Maremma, with wetlands and swamp populated by a diverse range of birds. Finally we reach the sandy beaches of the coast.
